The holidays in Buenos Aires are very interesting. I was woken up a few days in a row by fuegos artificiales, or more simply, fireworks. It's glorious because you can buy quite powerful stuff right on the street but it's crazy because they're more popular on Christmas then New Years for some reason. In any case it's already confusing enough when it's 80 degrees out for the holidays and then to have barbecues and fireworks to top it off.
It's also very busy in my neighborhood because of Dakar, which is a motorcycle rally race through the city. Many streets are closed off and there are large offroad trucks which seem to come from every last corner of the Earth to here for this one weekend to race. Muy interesante..
